Meet Mrs. Kathy Gilligan
Preschool Teacher - SKDS at Nativity

Mrs. Kathy Gilligan has been teaching preschool children since 1987, and taught at Nativity School since 1991. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development from Penn State University, and attended graduate school at Carlow College.

Mrs. Gilligan will tell you the a well- rounded preschool program introduces young children to learning in a casual, loving enviroment.  Children attending either of SKD's preschools receive just that, and have the  opportunity to make choices, perform small "jobs", and complete age appropriate projects that help them feel good about themselves."

When we asked Mrs. Gillian what inspires her to teach the young, she said it is wonderful to watch little ones grow and develop socially and emotionally during a school year.  "Seeing their individual creativity and personalities surface is very fulfilling.  I feel that it is the best way to begin a life of formal learning and interactivity."

St. Katharine Drexel's Preschool programs provide a positive "first time" school experience that is fun.  This program promotes and develops a positive self-image while providing opportunities for social interaction with peers and adults.  At both SKD's preschools, children also learn about God and his world around them.  They also learn to take turns, play with others, and follow a flexiblle schedule.
